Du har skabt hvad jeg er i dag,

Modig, som det bedste du ville mig,

Og lært mig at jeg ikke skulle kende til frygt,

en egenskab af mange du lærte mig,

Jeg er blevet trænet i loyalitet og godmodighed.

Se dybt i mine øje, ind i min sjæl, og du ved jeg vil dø for dig.

Jeg beskytter dine børn, jeg beskytter dit hjem,

Jeg vil gøre mit bedste for dig, om jeg så skal ligne en klovn.

MEN

Nogen af jer mennesker kan ikke lide mig.

Jeg ved ikke hvorfor.

Den eneste ting jeg bære skylden af, er modighed, kærlighed, og prøvelser.

Men stadig vil de se mig dø.

De vil se mit liv ende.

Vil DU, min kære ejer, sidde ved min side?

Vil du passe på mig, dig som jeg kaldte min ven?

Du har skabt hvad jeg er i dag.

Du har aldrig set mig tøve.

Jeg har gjort mit bedste for at holde dig i sikkerhed.

Vil Du gøre mig den tjeneste,

at passe på mig?

Nu hvor alle disse mennesker ikke vil have jeg skal leve mere?

  Last night I stood beside your bed, I came to have a peep

I could see that you were crying, and found it hard to sleep

I licked your face so softly and wiped away a tear

Its me I haven’t left you, im well, im fine, im here

I was close to you at breakfast, I watched you drink your tea

You were thinking of the many times your hands reached down to me

I was with you at the shops today; your arms were getting sore

I longed to take your parcels, I wish I could do more

I was with you at my grave today; you tend it with such care

I want to reassure you that I’m not lying there

I walked with you towards the house as you fumbled for your key

I gently put my paw on you,I smiled and said its me

You looked so very tired as you sank into your chair

I tried so hard to let you know that I was standing there

I really want for you to know I’m here every day

To say to you with certainty, I never went away

You sat so very quietly, I really think you knew

In the stillness of that evening I was very close to you

So when the time is right for you to cross the great divide

Ill rush across to greet you and we’ll stand side by side

I have so many things to show there is so much to see
